Welcome and thank you for coming.
I would like to use this opportunity to bring you the year 2006 as seen by me.
I'm gonna cheat a little and include December '05.
First up a most excellent day of hill climbing in the upper Bashee region in the Transkei. Ride report here
https://www.advrider.com/forums/showthread.php?t=162847
Hennie & Nardus coming up the hill.
Still December '05 and a dual sport trip to Coffee Bay. My first trip on the 640 and we are still fighting for dominance.
Check out my jacket strapped to the back of the bike. Good thing too, I lost a largish piece of skin on my elbow. The jacket would have been stuffed.
January.
Me & Hennie try to find a new route following the Kei river from the N2 to the mouth. It turns out to be a big job.
Getting directions. Check out the blood dripping below his right foot. I should really consider getting pegs for the 250.
Beautiful though.
Learning not to go down someplace unless you know you can get out again. I was fckng tired here.
February.
The route scouted and mapped and we take some unsuspecting types on the Bridge to Mouth ride.
They get a full helping.
March.
Lesotho with Nardus. Ride report here
https://www.advrider.com/forums/showthread.php?t=124550
Still March and a 4 day offroad trip to Hole in the Wall with some friends from Gauteng.
Plenty of rivers to cross. Here's the easiest one.
Some drownings.
Some near drownings. 'Crusty' tried to cross a lagoon at well over a 100km/h. The rationale was that if you go fast enough, you can skid over the top. He damn near made it. That's where he came to a stop.
That's what you get when you headbutt a riverbank.
Some places the bikes had to be carried up one by one.
Steamy forest scene.
Crusty & Schalk at the Jacaranda.
I have a short video of Hennie almost losing it .. permanently. Here's a link.

At the Hole.
April.
Desert Run.
September.
Malawi etc. Trip report here https://wilddog.net.za/forum/index.php?topic=3358.40
October.
I learn again not to go down unless you know you can get up.
Unbelievably, four hours later the lesson is forgotten and we go down a hill into a river that we cannot get out of. From about 17h00 we try to go back up the hill and finally at 21h30 we make it to the top.
November.
Baviaans Bash.
Still November and a day outing in our backyard.
June.
Dual sport trip to Port St Johns.
December
Lesotho again with Mrs Jockey.
Unexpected pleasure after missing the border post.
Feeling strong after clearing Sani.
Some lekker paadjies.
Some scenery.
Some falls.
Some long days.
Some Africa.
Yes, that's the year in review and I would like to give special thanks to these two lovely ladies for their loyalty and hard work.
And also to this lady who makes my world beautiful.
Thank you for watching, Metaljockey over and out.
