Namibia is just amazing. the Diverse Plant and  animal life as well as the geology is mind blowing.
Go at least once in your life.

True words dw1, the only problem, if you went once, it will not be the last.   :deal: :deal:

Great photo's.   :thumleft:

Wil hom graag onthou soos hy was, toe daar eintlik niks was nie.

Thanks Mother. Namibia certainly lends itself to landscape photography.  Funny thing about the country; people either love it or hate.  My first wife hated it.  Burst into tears when we were camping at Sesriem and that evening wind came up, dust everywhere.  She was unconsolable.

shame guess its not for everyone

when i did border duty on national service way back when i didnt really connect with the place and in anycase this was the war zone and felt no connection whatsoever

then in 1988 i did Simon Fouries Dessert run....to Swakopmund....this particular Desert Run was the last one through Botswana at the time and we started in Jwaneng

from there it was sand and dirt roads to Gobabis........i learnt to ride sand here....

The ride between Windhoek and Swakopmund the Khomas Hogland  this was where i fell in love with this beautiful rugged country

since 1988 i have been back many times i have lost count

to me it is Dual purpose heaven......
i even taken my Harley there obviously tar only but that was also a great experience

i hope i can continue to go back in the future

I gelled with SWA/Nam in the army because of the sunsets, but then just after army my first real job was being a cattle truck driver in Nam. A year and half seeing the country and SA on someone else's fuel bill did not feel like work although it was tiring.
Then the Nam dust got under my skin and would be there forever. :thumleft:
As with Mother the bug for doing the country on two wheels bit whilst doing a Desert Run trip. Actually did two.

I also did a Desert run in 2004.
I wonder how many guys here have done those
Got to ride the first GS 1200 in Swakop. Simon had it there and we got to ride it. Brand new.
