Alrighty then. I went and had a chat with my Orthopaedic Surgeon and I Basically asked him to operate and plate my Clavicle as it was over 2 weeks and nothing! He went on how I am impatient and these things doo take time. I think he doesnt get the bit where i have a Time line and my bones arent coming to the party!

Feeling a little down I Took my Daughter for a Riding Lesson yesterday on her newly aquired Deal of the Decade KX 85! Ill Get into that later!

I took my bike for a ride the first since my Fall and Sadly it is an awesome bike and it give me a thrill, Sadly why becuase it I could feel the clavicle moving whilst i was Riding!

So today I decided to finish up on the Mock up.

I went and Bought a KTM Kill Switch and Horn and Installed it onto the ICO/Roadbook Control Bracket.

The Switch.

On The Bracket

Here I have Stripped the Front end down again!

Here I have installed the main instrument bracket.

Then With the Headlight fairing.

I will still have to make up a Fibrel glass cover to cover the Roadbool and to offer some wind protection whilst i am on the Highways!

Here is a pic of the rear Tank

I really like that braket, it looks strong and simple. Bike is looking great. So what is you fuel capacity now?

Does that rear tank need a fuel pump? I would be interested to see how you have set that up.

Thanks Boet! I like this setup as it is simple. It may not look as rallye as the JVO and Mecca Kits. It is how ever much cheaper!

So what is you fuel capacity now?
The Total Capacity is 28 Litres.

Does that rear tank need a fuel pump?
Luckily the rear tank doesnt need a pump. It works on the Siphoning effect where the carb is lower than the tank.

I would be interested to see how you have set that up.
I will post Pics when I Start with the Fuel lines and the Wiring of the systems.

Why not try contact then for a LED light and taller number plate

It looks almost the same as the setup that i am heading towards. To be honest with you i havent thought of the Headlight and the Top Fairing as yet.

All good mate.
Maybe even ask them what they thought of it. Would they change anything. What are the advantages/disadvantages of having that mount of weight on the bars?
If I recall correctly from the ADV Rider Dakar thread it is heavier on the stearing but lighter on the front wheel than the fairing tower.

Looking good by the way

Here is the 2011 Abudhabi Desert Challenge entry list

There is one Junior that I would like you all to watch out for.

His name is Sam Sunderland on Bike Number 24. He is Uber fast and Super fit. If he can Navigate he will do very well.

The People that i am Rooting for

  • James West
  • Hein van Der Merwe
  • Brittany Erasmus
  • Matthew Trehey
  • Sam Sunderland

 Hopefully it all holds together.

I will be at the Super Special opener and I will post pics from there and then we will be joining the Bivouac on Tuesday to the End to get more Pics.

Ok Guys in the time is nearly apon us so i have decided to get some insight into some of the accesible people here in the UAE for the onslaught to the 2011 AbuDhabi Desert Challenge.

First off is Matthew Trehey, A good Englishman who if i have got it right is attempting his second desert Challenge after a DNF last year due to a broken leg where he had to be air lifted out of the desert.

I had the pleasure of riding with Matt about 2 months ago and I think that he is ready as long as he keeps his head and focus. The rally is after all 5 days long.

And his Sweet looking bike!

Good luck Mate!

So now onto some seriously fast Gentlemen.

We have Team Al Yasi.

The Team consists of James West, Khalid Al Falasi and justin Taylor.

For those of you that do not know James. He is a very talented rider and very capable of winning this event. He shocked the world in 2007 by coming in 3rd behind Coma and Despres. He Also had a very good run on the 690 last year and now has opted to ride a WRF 450. He has also had very good success with the Baja 1000.

James has unfortunately had an inury 3-4 weeks ago where he has hurt his hand and when i spoke to him this morning he said that they had a good shake down ride this morning and his hand is feeling a litle weak so he is back on the bike all day today to regain some strength. What a legend!

Then there is Khalid.

Khalid is a super fast Arab that can ride with the best in the world. As my memory serves he had a nast fall in 2008 where he hurt his back and missed out on last years event and now i am excited to say that he is back in the saddle.

I do not know much about Justin Taylor but as james told me earlier , Justin is very fast on the flat stuff! Coming from James this would probably mean that Justin could be a Top 10 Contender.

Here are some of the shakedown test photos!
