North, South, East and West

North, South, East and West

Iíve heard a few people on the forum mention that they either have visited, or would like to visit, the four extremities of the country, North, South, East and West.

It got me wondering, what exactly were these points. Itís easy to grab the map and point and go there, there, there and there, but how far is far enough? I have a chance soon to maybe do the point that is furthest north, and need to know if I can just stay on the road, or do I have to wade halfway into the crocodile infested Limpopo river?

So please those of you that have done the four wind directions, give me a bit of guidance here. If you have any, please add your pictures too!

I also mentioned this topic the other day in conversation with friends
North - been on Beitbridge (this is not the furthers North you can go)
East - been to Kosi bay and snorkeled in the mouth of the river right by the Mozambiquen border
South - Was there on Sunday

West - still have to go to Alexander bay - Is that the furthest West one can go

The four points that are easily accessible and generally regarded as the extremes are:

North - Pontdrift Broder Post
South - Cape Agullas
East - Kosi Bay Border Post
West - Alexander Bay
