Hi Guys, we are going that way this weekend and sometimes the far Eastern End of the Floriskraal farm roads can be rather sandy after crossing the Dwyka River, depending on when last the road has been graded, recent rains, and recent winds.
At the beginning of June last year, the sand level was just fun.
At the end of June, there was no sand at all, being freshly graded.
In October, it was slightly sandy again, but fun.
By mid-November, the sand depth was quite extreme.
Some guys took 1h50 to cover just 5km, with many tumbles and minor injuries.

We will have a few guys with us that prefer to not tackle deep sand, so we are looking for possibilities.

On the map, the road marked in Red is the section we are trying to avoid. Approaching from the West, heading towards Prince Albert, at the fork just South of Bronkhorsthoogte, we can make a decision based on what the road looks like up to that point.
The original detour is marked in Magenta, but it adds 70km to our already stretched fuel range.
I see on the latest Tracks4Africa, that road marked in Green. It appears on few other maps.
If we can do that, then it adds only 17km to our route instead of 70.
Does anyone know that road in Green?
Locked gates?
Sandy sections?
Anything else to be aware of?AAA.JPG
