I have a few potential newbies who want to meet up.

Hi all,

I asked Wino to post the final route.

I will post the Cheese Farm particulars again.  The other thread dissapeared.

I will do everything tonight.

The plan was to meet at Van Gaalen Cheese Farm 8:30 on Sunday 22/7/2007.  We will follow Wino's route from there.

More to follow tonight.    ;D

One other maybe will join if circumstances allow.  Hope everything goes well, Z.

We will meet at 8:30 for breakfast and be ready to roll at 9:30.  I'm going to phone ahead to tell them we are on our way.

According to Zerc the co-ords for Van Gaalen Cheese Farm  are S25 47 16.2 E27 46 19.6  in hh.mm.ss.s format

I have just spoken to Wino.  A part of the trip's data is not available, but he will post something useable later tonight or tommorrow.   :) :)  He said we must have a sense of adventure.   ;)

The total route after the Cheese Farm will be 250km max.  It will be appreciated if everyone can arrive at the Cheese Farm with a full tank.

Remember the cameras, please.  Lots of pics because we will have lots of new dogs.

i merged the 2 threads ;)
here is an approximation of the route (up to bnek and over the n4 is on garmap, the rest not really). but let's not get bogged down with a set route 8)
seeing that it will be sunday and that we will pass many residences, please respect the requested low noise level. also, stay out of the canal >:D

Spark,

I have found the best place to buy gear - Centurion Yamaha. Just off the N1 at Old Jhb rd interchange. They have a massive range. Otherwise Full Throttle in Edenvale.

Go past Randfontein and through Krugersdorp down the kraans to Hendrik Potgieter and turn right towards JHB - about 10km on you will go under a fly-over and soon see Honda Wast Rand on the RHS - Take the next robot right and 1st right again - left at circle and find CIT in corner of complex.

Quite a bit.  I am waiting for their menu.  They know we will be there Sunday morning early.  They promised that they will be ready for us.
