The following pic's are of my Dad racing at various venues in and around Jo'Burg in the mid 50's. I cannot say exactly when they were taken or what all of the bikes are, where I do know I will insert a note, if anyone knows anymore about the make of bikes or feels I've got it wrong, please feel free to jump in.
Used to have to make your own grass track and race, one of the dirt tracks was at the site which later became Brickor.
I am pretty sure that the helmet was never tested.

Dual Sport biking has been around for as long as bikes have been around and hopefully that will never change.
This is a 500 BSA Gold Star which he also raced and I used to keep pops company in the garage fetching spanners and the like while he restored it.
Not really a trip down memory lane for me as my Dad gave up racing before I was born but I thought I would share something different for a change.
