Sadly , no  ???

There seems to be nice 2005 - 2010 models that pop up occasionally , with very little mileage, ie under 5k km"S

From what I could glean there was no change in the bike over the years , just stickers and seat colouring.

They were built from 2000 onwards, sold bucket loads. The S and SM still sold in the USA.

Well any new ones anyway. Thought they might have old stock available. Sure they'll have second hand though

A sad, sad day  :'(
They sold tons of them in the States and Aus - why the hell do manufacturers stuff up a good thing?

Was also at Suzuki Toys Store, but sadly they don't have any 2nd hand ones either... :-[

BUT...I found a lovely 2007 E model with just under 8000km for a VERY good price!!!  :ricky:  Going to get it today..

Why were their pricing on par with the DR650?

IIRC they were available at around R55K.

Did they have special kit that made them so "expensive" compared to say a XR or a DR?

I think whitedelight has one.

In theory the DRZ should cost more than the DR, the technology and suspension is better. Also liquid cooled vs air cooled. Faster than the 650 also. The DRZ won the American offroad championship in 2000/2001.

Much more expensive suspension, more advanced engine, MAGNESIUM cylinder head and side covers, etc, etc

One of the best Trail bikes, I wanted to buy one but could affort only one bike at the time and needed a more pillion friendly 'do it all' bike. The DRZ400 will be missed though, it sure leaves a gap in the market  :3some:
