Laurika needs help, between Colesburg and Elliot
« on: December 29, 2011, 03:22:23 pm »
Her chain and sprockets is giving up the ghost, anyone know where replacements can be sourced, Yamaha XT 660?
She's not always available on the phone, let me know and I'll get the info across.
She is riding in that general direction, can deviate if required.
If you can keep your head in the midst of all this confusion, you don't understand the situation!

Eish, nobody in town has a bike like that to rob spares from.

Might be able to get in Queenstown but its a long shot.

If push comes to shove and she can get to Elliot she can take my bike for the rest of her trip.

I just got hold of Micks's son, the shop keys are in Morgans Bay with the folks. Qms is not answering their phone, so they must be closed. They carry a small range of bike spares. Harrys in Queenstown can order the stock, they have nothing on hand. That means Qtn is of no help  :P

Where exactly is Laurika ?

Can't they get spares in East London, I'm in King William's Town but can try and arrange a lift up to Elliot once you got the spares.  If needed I can take the spares up to Elliot on Saturday.  PM me if help needed.   :thumleft:

I have asked Laurika to have a look and see which offer/plan of action will work best for her route, we'll have to wait until she has access. I don't really know what her schedule is.

Do we know where she is ?

I'm leaving PE tomorrow to Jansenville then on to Graaffe Reinette and Hanover on Saterday. I can get the parts tomorrow and she must find me somewhere. I don't mind detouring on Saterday(G-R/Hanover) to meet her.

I must know tonight what the plan is. Once on the road you can only contact me by Cell phone.

Was a bit confused for the moment. Laurika is also on her way to Mothers bash as far as I know. Check if Dustdevil is at home. He's got all the tools to change a chain and Sprockets. If L can get to Middelburg on Saterday morning and I can get the parts tomorrow we're sorted. If DD is not there We'll make a plan to do the job. I have an idea L is also meeting us in G-R tomorrow evening.

Hi guys! Wow.... I am 45 km from coiesburg. The bike can ride but the problem with the chain is getting progggressively wworse. I am lubing every 200 km. Zina has managed to get yamaha in bloem to source me a chain from their stores. Craig can fit it, it just needs a lift to colesburg or hanover....Jupiters plan can also work...buut the shops are all closed..I am on my way to the xmas bash in hanover...the long way round - anyone who can lift the packet from bloem to hanover or ccolesburg? Zina seems to think the couriers are dicey at the moment.... The sprockes are good..it seems like a cheap chain was fitted before...so it has worrn out really much faster than the sprockets....
