Another of the â??four passesâ? takes the road from the university town of Stellenbosch to the settlement of Kylemore in the Drakenstein valley. The summit is at 366m.
The small valley at the eastern end became known as Bang-hoek supposedly because wild animals lurked in the area. Further along is the German missionary town of Pniel.
