I am sure you can, if Hello Peter .com can have a local site purely devoted to this I can't really see the problem. My 2c worth
I think if I actually found My mind, I probably wouldn't know what to do with it,

This forum will not be held liable for your rantings but be warned that if you spread unfounded rumours or lies you could get yourself into serious trouble. (not saying that you are ;) )

I believe the Wild Dog site encourages you to share your experiences and complain when you feel you need to. Just be careful that the offending party don't retaliate and drag you to court.

by all means...share your story if you want. We're all ears!

Same as LS.

If it's just soppy dirt smear story rather don't post it. If it will add value to the public or members to know the info and story, it sure would be part of why the forum exist.

Use facts and don't assume things or butter things up. If the moderators feel the post is not condusive to the good of the forum and is of bad taste we will delete the entire thread.

Please do go ahead :D

ok.this is what happened.
in june i was told by jacque the saleman at auto alpina that he had a set of wheels for sale.gs 650.for the price of R5500.00
i said bring them in i will buy them.i went back the day they had a power failure.place was shut dowm in the dark but spent one hour there with a tyre technican from metzeler.
anyway went back a week later, jaque now wanted R8000 for the wheels,i said that it was unfair.he said no,the wheels were somebody elses and now they belong to him and he wants R8000.
i was very unhappy and refused to pay 8.
i agree that he is in the position to source the goods and make a profit.
i would do the same.what i wouldnt do is inflate the price to that same person i promised them to..i feel it is unethical and that the wheel will eventually turn.
i have never had any other drama with jaque and go to that dealer once a week,i am just pissed off.
i see that he now has a name on the site and is struggling to sell them, could that be karma?
warm regards
me

its possible he underestimated the price .... its your right to say its too much... one of them things i guess...no contract was concluded initially although verbally is a contract but difficult to prove.

take it on the chin , offer him yr origonal deal again

no.he didnt mess up the price.he actually bought them to resell for more, wish i dont mind, only how could you offer them to the same person again! at another price.
yes i took it,thats life,i know.
but every weekend when i change my anakee for knobblies on my garage floor, with two well worn tyre levers,i think how nice it could have been.

I disagree

If that's what was agreed - then he should stick to it. Something of that value - a verbal agreement is good enough in my books.
He probably found out the selling price of new ones and decided to make a quick buck extra. That is dishonest and wrong.

The wheel turns !!

Also..... is this a private deal ??? mmmm. In his employers property ?? ......mmmm. Using employers resources??....mmmm

8 Gorillas for a set of wheels ???  :o :o :o

I got a front wheel for a 650 Dakar from a BMW dealer employee for R1000.
It was a cash deal so you may assume what you want. An insurance probably paid for it as a writeoff and is further increasing the premiums  ???
The wheel looked like a new one. It was not perfectly round (probably due to a collision or a wipeout) but the deformation was well within the manufacturers tolerance.

IMHO you should buy your set of wheels somewhere else.

I can look around for you ;)

Silly Stunt, reading your story, I am inclided to say that it all boils down to two things:

1 - Ethics. Seems that Jaque doesnt have any if he commited to a price, only to later alter said price so as to increase his profits.

&

2 - Integrity. this (imho) demonstates very low levels of integrity!!!

He who dies with the most toys, wins !!!!!

RETAIL ON THOSE RIMS R1500-00 I WILL OFFER R200-00

CALL MICHNUS 011 - 418 3300

It's not really unethical, he got them before you and he determines the price, take it or leave it.

It is a bit low class to pull a stunt like that, but he did it for personal gain.
Jacque is a member, it would be great if he can comment, since he is selling the same rims on the forum. Get his side of the story. Is Auto Alpina aware he is selling parts under their banner?

Quote
I have a new set of F650 GS rims for sale. They include the discs, ABS rings, rear sprocket hub and tyres for R8000. Please contact Jacques on 083 412 8742. (6/18/2007)

So, if I understand this correctly, Jacman advertised these rims initially for R5,5K on behalf of someone else, then bought them himself and now wants R8K for them? On principle I would tell him to shove them where the sun don't shine, if this is the case. >:D >:D

I wonder if the original seller has been paid already? Or if he knows about this huge mark-up?

Nope its never a good idea to openly complain on a forum like this.....

The first bikeSA forum closed down because people openly complained and it started big fights....

I'll rather keep it clean.... my 2c  ;)

I'm sorry Capt,  but I think you're wrong.

people in this country don't complain enough,  and that's the reason why chancers carry on taking chances.

bollocks to that!!!

I WANT to know if some has had some shirt with a vendor.   Possibly save me the same shirt later down the line.   PLUS,  otherwise,  joe soap will continue his unethical dishonest etc etc behaviour unabated.

Give joe a PK and tell everyone he's a rotter,  that's my style!!!
