Challa, they said they opened the starter switch assembly, right down to the contact plates. They lightly sanded down the contact plates and reassembled. They tested it and said it was fine. My preference would be for them to replace the entire starter switch assembly.

I checked tried starting the bike in neutral with the side stand flipped in the 'up' position, it didn't make any difference. Then I took the start switch apart this weekend, cleaned it out and sprayed it with QD contact cleaner. I worked the switch back and forth and re-assembled it. It seems...
