It is not illegal... Lights of the same class need to be the same colour. I don't recall it being specified anywhere in the act but fog and headlights are not in the same class (judging by the beam characteristics specified) Go check the NRTA, Chapter 6, Part II, 181 Colour of Lights

If it is all sheet metal, you can try Vulcan Steel: laser cut + CNC bending. They'll probably want a 3D cad model though, not sure how you have done your design

Solder will never hold (it will vibrate loose over time), you need to crimp the wires back together with a butt splice or similar

A motor of that power and torque costs in the region of R32k. Adding on batteries is another R50k-R100k depending on how good they are. So your estimate of the entire bike costing R40k and therefore has a markup of 400% is quite simply ludicrous

Best case you're looking at roughly $500 per kwh, but it can go as high as $1000 per kwh. So yes, thats where the vast majority of the cost ends up. Or you favourite conspiracy theory if you dont believe they really cost that much
