I've got to give credit to a dealer when its due. When I took my 1200GS for a service at Bavarian BMW the other day, I asked them if they could maybe try and find me a second hand headlight to replace my broken one, as I didn't fancy spending R3200 for a new one. Also asked them for a demo bike...

Yeah got back in time, in fact I even arrived early!  Thought the border might take a good 2 hours to get through. When I got there 5 min later I was through, what a pleasure! There wasn't even one car waiting, a few stamps and that was it. ;D Ride was very lekker, didn't stop much. Left at 5am...

I've owned both, my first bike was the Dakar and second the 1200GS. I actualy find the 1200 easier to ride with the lower center of gravity, to me it feels lighter to ride and manoeveurs better than the Dakar at both high and low speeds. There's a lot more power obviously and therefore you need...
