I am a happy user of the Bikegear pump. It isnt the smalles or lightest, but i like the quality. Used it on my trip through Africa and never failed on me, even when running hot. I also think that the pressure gauge inline is better than on the pump itself. My experience is with vibrating pumps...

Exactly, you on a bike, ride defensive. Assume that others didnt see you. Sometimes i do stupid things too, but in general i try to remember that the road stops around the corner until your eyes have confirmed otherwise About speed difference, over here it is allowed to split lanes up to 45...

Oh, did i mention i didnt have a single problem which kept me from riding during the 20.000km trip? Maybe in south africa because of crappy/dirty fuel it stuttered and stalled for a second, but i got it started quickly again without making my hands dirty :)

For insurance or selling purposes i'd like to have an indication of the value of my bike. Maybe you guys can give me your ideas: Arica Twin 1996 T-model around 80.000km (i think, cant look at the odo since the bike is too far away... ) It's not in mint condition, it has been used in Africa...

Not bad. But: How big is the tank? The frame doesnt look very solid Isnt the parallel twin a heavy engine?

last couple of days i had the Africa Twin skipping beats for the first time in 16000km... I think it is the fuel, because it stuttered like it does when you have to switch to reserve Last 500km were fine again, but hopefully it was the fuel and not the filter or a dirty carb. Is a dirty fuel...

I just came from Namibia after riding there for 3 weeks, mostly gravel roads. Had some hairy moments, especially in Damaraland. Being surprised by sandy spots in the dry riverbeds. Some river beds appeared to be filled with a little water and had a rocky riverbed. Mostly when i had a heartbeat...
