    Oil burner rebuild

To me they looked fine, but I'm sure if you measure the oil rings they will be worn

    Oil burner rebuild

Just under 200km now since the rebuild. Been still trying to behave my self. Once I hit the 1000km Mark I'll take it on a nice long tar trip.  One where I keep it at 5000rpm for 100km and hopefully  I still got oil left

I'm not sure, thought it was too worn to go 0.5mm, that's why they went 1mm. The barrel was dropped off and they measured and told me what to buy.

Before when I would labour the engine at 2000rpm I could hear , what sounded like to me, piston slap,  that noise is no longer there.

Thanks for the feedback. The eng shop said it needed to go 1mm over size.  First time the motor was opened. The old piston had no number on top. Only on the side

1mm over size,  from the Kawasaki agents.  I'm not too worried about going faster,  it's a klr after all :pot: my biggest worrie was cooking the engine because I ran out of oil. Two days from home is one long walk

Did the first oil change, oil filter. Crank her over and can hear a slight chain noise. Try listen to where its coming from.....dam center stand safety clip  i hooked it over the foot peg. It's a clip I made to stop the center stand dropping down when I get a bit too carried away and...

Fitted the head, checked and double checked the timming. Torque ever thing to spec.  Me and that manual are best buds. Put the tank back. Was going to go get some sleep,  night shift is fun. Only hoes and cops work night shift.....I got a gun but no badge......So I must be a hoe  but i...

    Oil burner rebuild

Head all nice and new. Was told by duckam motors my head was in good nic  and they 're seated my valves and replaced the R620 seals. and 're shimmed back to spec. When I stripped I checked my clearances. I was on the maximum clearance according to the manual. they never skimmed it.

    Oil burner rebuild

New piston and rings, 1mm over size. There is a small rubber thing, called a damper, that sits behind the front chain guide in the barrel. Now this thing is small and when I took it out I made a mental note, don't forget it. :imaposer: I used big plastic boxes for the parts, ones with lids, as...
