Twice I've done Pretoria to Cape Town, but on one of the trips I did have to stop overnight in the Free State (think it was bad weather). Also done one trip from Cape Town in a day to Alexandria I think it was (other side of Port Elizabeth).

Road into Die Hel.... Going in was easy but coming out after the previous night's rainfall was Hell! Roads reduced to soft clay and swollen rivers meant some really interesting moments. Without a pillion to help I'm not sure that getting out would have been possible....
And then post-Darling we discovered high speed cornering off the tar requires you to rest for a bit....

Thanks guys for a great ride today... I'll second what Andy said.... I had two close "moments" in the sand but managed to stay out of the ditch ;-) The great company made up for the brunch turning in to lunch.
