Thanks for some great tips.. I always worry about U-turners and approach any stationary or pulling over vehicles with extreme caution. To watch the front wheel of the car at an intersection is the best tip I ever had.. except I hate 'creepers' - drivers who don't wait till you are past them...

Just finished this book and the author wasn't kidding when he lets his readers know that his grammar and writing style aren't that brilliant  :o. I did however enjoy reading about the route he travelled..

I recently took a bike to Dekra for a roadworthy as well as a 101 point check.. great, efficient service. I'm sure there will be one in your area if you search on google..

Thanks for the welcome.. yes, I was part of the ride and yes, was surprised at traffic having to be stopped. This was the first 'big' ride I was part of, apart from attending a mass ride for a friend who died in a biking accident and even then, there was no stopping of traffic.

I wasn't in any way condoning traffic being stopped, just thought I would let you know what the ride was in aid of  :) Also thought a previous personal attack on how the riders looked was uncalled for.
