I have owned both the KLR and te DR (still have my '06) and must say I prefer the ride on the DR. The only gripe I have is the tank size, and the cost of a Long Range tank.

This was merely a work around so that I can ride the bike as the main issue has not been resolved yet  :-[  I will take the bike in to Kawasaki to fix when I get a gap. Thanks to all for the assistance

Thanks guys, managed to see that there was one fuse blown and the inline fuse was removed and wires were bridged. Not sure though if the blown fuse is the cause yet as I am yet to reassemble the bike and let her run. One question though, I am going to rewire the fan to come on with the...
