    Biker Down N1 Malibongwe (Hanstrydom)

Colleague of mine rode past the accident earlier today just as the first ambulance was setting up. He said it looked like the bike had hit a pedestrian (who appeared to have died). Biker was being tended to by the paramedics.

    Lane splitting vs. emergency lane

Umm..  think you missed my point as it was shrouded by irony and you may have missed the smiley: I was poking fun at your statement that you can lane-split safely... I don't think you or anyone can. You might be able to lane-split safer than an inexperienced rider, but ultimately if the driver...

I've contacted HD and they told me that this is a common fault caused by vibration from the number-plate leading to stress fractures in the rear fender. For a cool R3000 they'll fix it for me (welding and respray)...

    Securing Topbox - How?

I'm not referring to the Givi mounting plate but the BMW adapter plate it is affixed to. It would literally take 1min to undo the 4 screws which hold the adapter plate to the bike.

    Securing Topbox - How?

So, got a Givi Topbox for my GSA the other day. It's fixed to a BMW adaptor plate that came with the bike when I bought it a few months back. Now, the plate is attached to the luggage rack with just 4 bolts. Nothing really stops anyone with a wrench from taking the plate (and thusly the Topbox)...
