Huge thank you to Offroad cycles

Same from me. Just had tyres replaced and got good advice from Conrad and staff, even saved a few bucks. The load shedding was dealt with too. Thanks again!

What repairs are most common on a long trip?

Once experienced a cracked fuel pipe connector, but repairable with pratley's. Headlight, indicator and tail light lamps. And watch out for loose battery terminals.

How many dogs use their bikes daily for commuting and what do you use?

Everyday for of the past 15years. Aprilia Pegaso for 6years, only 10km to work and back, and the rest on 1200GS, about 20km to work and back. Only use the car if in dire straits, like today, taking the old man to the doctor.

    Solo around Lesotho from Pta

So 6jaar terug by Hikers Paradise gekoop, duur maar goeie kopie, dit was destyds hier by die R700. Dink jy kry dit by CUM ook. Dit kook 'n koppie water in minder as 2 minute. Werk ook goed vir kookeiers, melk en pasta. Maak blikkies kos warm sommer so in die blikkie in water, minder mors en...

jhb to durban and back again

Great alternative to Durbs! At that same builder going up on Bez pass, where you got your bike down, I decided to turn around on my solo around Lesotho. That is one seriaasly challenging route for one person and when it is wet, boy oh boy! Well done and thanks for sharing!

Tankbags- do you use them ?

Agree with Jupiter Have 1200GS tankbag, it was first accessory for the bike. I use tankbag in conjunction with topbox and is about as permanent on bike as me. Only remove it if bike is washed. In week use it for laptop, clothing, and work stuff. On weekends for shopping and Sunday rides for...

    Solo around Lesotho from Pta

That's it folks! Not much to report back from the N3. All in all a very enjoyable trip and highly recommended. It is nice riding with friends and lots can be learned and talked about, and there is more peace of mind, but it can be very rewarding doing it alone too. Cheers! Jaco

    Solo around Lesotho from Pta

On route to Harrismith  through Geluksburg you'll find the Middledale pass, beautiful  scenery from the top but from here the road is really bad with potholes for about 5km. The last gravel towards Harrismith is extremely fast going and if you manage to catch a boer in his bakkie, well good luck...

    Solo around Lesotho from Pta

From where the bike is parked I walked the road for about 200m, leaving clothing all over the place as I started to get very hot and sweaty climbing a number of boulders. I did not take the camera along so there is no evidence, but let me tell you this. I cannot alone pick up my bike onto a half...

    Solo around Lesotho from Pta

The route started easy with a few gates that were opened by local children. I got rid of some unused supplies with much appreciation.  After the third gate this boulder greeted me and I returned the greeting by going over it. The road just got worse after every turn...I had to ride in...

    Solo around Lesotho from Pta

At Bergville I turned left towards Ladysmith as I wanted to miss the Sterkfontein dam route and saw Bezuidenhouts pass on T4A. When you reach Kwaggashoek Game Ranch you go left. At Kwaggashoek I asked a young fellow on the condition of the pass. He looked at the bike and said no problem, only...
