Now if that is the marketing strategy I am extremely confused. How exactly will the G450X and the new superbike contribute to this new plan?? It seems that BMW are putting a lot of effert in both areas. ???

Latests results    * I never go offroad - it's just nice to know I can: 11.73%    * Mostly tar - I go offroad very seldom: 34.35%    * About half-half: 38.78%    * I ride mostly dirt with not much tar riding: 15.31% This just proves again that marketing people are not particularly strong...

Too much jumping over speed bumps and riding hard on corrugated roads are apparently a killer for drive-shafts. It breaks the rubber inserts that absorbs shock. Mine last about 40000km before it goes. Trying to use less throttle over those bumps and corrugations would probaly solve the problem...

Have experience with both. The Funduro is bulletproof and very reliable. The GS is probably better for commuting and comfort. If you want to do serious off-road touring go for the Funduro. If you are commuting go for the GS. M 2c

Sal more (23/9/08) my R1150 GS Adv se 100 000km opsit oppad GS challenge toe. Dit sal my en die fiets se vyfde GS challenge op rooi roetes wees. Behalwe twee dryfaste en 'n koppelaar plaat het ek nog geen ander probleme gehad nie.

The 800 has USD suspension, 21'' front wheel, no pots that get stuck in ruts and is 20kg lighter. Thus much better option for off-road than the 1200 as the extra torque just makes your tyre bill higher. On-road ?? Probably the 1200. Bigger tank, more power, probably more stable in wind and...

Just watch out for the fork and spade on your right. I think they do not like orange as the fork is showing teeth  ;D See you at the challenge. Please do not walk on the Bedouine tent (especially not carrying that fork - we might get rain!!!). Deon's redness might just exceed the legal limit.  ;)
