rubber cement - for patching tubes - where do you buy it?

I'm a resident of the U.S., traveling the world on the Beemer. Currently I'm in the Sandton area of Jo'burg (just off the N3). Checking my patching supplies, my couple tubes of never opened rubber cement has 'dried' (all the solvent has evaporated from the tubes). Before heading north from SA up...

    Namibia - June 2008

Golly, am I confused. Just read where I was back in Bleumfontein - shoot, I meant Stellenbosch. Not that it matters since I'm now at Backpackers Paradise in Oudtshoorn. I rode Route 62 the past couple days, after getting throughly soaked riding down to Cape Agulhas. And I am going to Namibia...

Need help converting Tracks4Africa for use with Mac

I've a copy of Tracks4Africa. I'm carrying a Apple Mac. I've got the MapConverter tool from Garmin, which runs on a PC only. I tried running the conversion - only got 6 of 14 maps converted - the other 8 threw errors (path problems). I tried loading the 6 Mac-converted maps to my 276C using...

    Rally recommendations?

Thanks all who replied. The Whale Rally was too soon - was in CapeTown when it started - still trying to get some gear before heading out. In Stellenbosch today, but will be riding up the Garden Route for the next couple weeks or so. The Swazi Rally looks like it might be doable in August.

Friend in need - planning a trip to ZA

I just got in to Cape Town this morning. Had the bike out of customs by noon. What a pleasure to be riding again - even if it is on the wrong side of the road. I'm in Stellenbosch for the moment, just to get some maps, figure out where I'm at, where everything is. Hope to run into some of you...

    Stellenbosch traveler accommodations

LoneRider: Good chance I'll be around then, since I don't have any plans after I leave the airport.  I'll need a few days to study some maps (which I don't have yet) and figure some things out. I'll send you an email when I get there and let you know where I'm staying.

Oops - didn't mean to offend any HD riding posers.

    Rally recommendations?

Where I'm from (Seattle, Washington, in the Pacific Northwest of the US of A), I attended a number of motorcycle rallies each year - a good way to meet people and ride a new area of the country. They are also relatively inexpensive places to hang out for a few days - secure tent space for the...

I arrive around 9 a.m. so I'm expecting to be able to leave the airport with my bike before the end of business day. I've got a basic...
