I did the same on my last KLR. Doc KLR and welded up my own tool... Still have the tool but don't fancy doing the job again :P Leave it up to the professionals
Thanks! I gave Hilton a call. He says he would fit the single piece tensioner from the newer models onto my '05. Says the Eagle Mike is not really necessary as this one should suffice...
