No, it was Rex's SpeedShop - my no 1 place for all things electrical concerning the XT. Drop them an email, they're extremely helpful.

    690 Owners ,Sprocket millage?

To get back on topic... it depends entirely on how heavy you are on the twisty tube. First sprocket I got 16k miles (slightly over 25000 km), by not being a hooligan. I replaced it because I had a couple of long rides coming up and was replacing the rear tyre anyway, but probably could have...

    Ktm 690 R adventure?

Right, so here's an honest answer - the bike isn't perfect, but then I've never found a bike that is. I bought mine in 2008 and have done a fair few thousand miles on it. So here's my list of pro's and cons and modifications to sort out the problems. Cons: The saddle is like an iron railing...

    Touratech 2013 Travel Event

Not relevant for most of you but I know there are a few dogs who have moved to the muddy island. Both the Touratech Travel Event and the Paddy Dakar are being held in Wales next weekend and wandered if anybody (apart from myself) was going to either of them?

    Air filter for KTM 690

Louder than normal, but I love the throatiness of the sound she now makes, it's certainly not unbearably loud. Gotta admit it's dropped my consumption level a bit, but also seems to have put a few extra horses onto the rear-wheel.

    KTM690 custom seat

I modded mine myself. Got 4 or 5 assorted types of foam offcuts from an upholsterer who works near me. He didn't charge anything and it even included a thin piece of memory foam. Bought the suede fabric for £17. It's actually Alcantara, the same material used for seats in Ferrari's and Aston...

    KTM 690 for touring

They're very different bikes. I've trashed a Dak because I rode it like my KTM. The Dak is a better road bike, no doubt about it, but considerably underpowered compared to the 690. I rode a Dak in Namibia a couple of years ago just after very heavy rains, hit a big patch of soft sand from a...

The tooltube is connected to the top of the bellypan. It gets the odd stone kicked up against it, but they're really tough. I just think of it as being protection for the radiator as I've never had a stone kicked up that's connected the rad, no matter how hard I ride.

    Air filter for KTM 690

I got fed up with trying to stop dust getting into the airbox. Eventually just ripped out the whole airbox and replced it with a washable K&N. Very pleased with the result and now I have a whole load of free space under the seat which I plan to turn into a toolbox.

    KTM 690 for touring

Only just found this thread, I use my 690 for touring. Have done several longish trips, including through France down to Spain twice and several trips to France and Holland. Here's what I did to make my 690 suitable (in the order that they were done): Replaced the crappy plastic belly pan with...
