I'm glad someone mentioned the wrath of the doctor. Like you, I grew up in Cape Town and have felt the force of the fury - but never on a bike...until March this year. Luckily I was wearing my brown pants and I vow never to attempt to ride again if the trees bend to more than 45 degrees.
