Took mine off because: 1 It reduced the ground clearance 2 Because the cross bar sticks out downwards, when i hit rocks with it the bike would try to launch or stop suddenly, causing moments of excessive entertainment 3 The same rocks bent the arms, so the over-center mechanism didn't work...

That is a huge screen - haven't built anything nearly that size! I found the best way to heat either poly or perspex was in an oven - preferably not one you share with anyone else?  :o The oven gave the most even heat, giving the fewest cracks, least bubbling or frosting and easiest bending -...

Quite easy and cheap to make if you keep breaking them or are that way inclined or are bored or would like to try? They end up costing about R100 plus about an hour or so each out of polycarbonate, and there are a few safety and handling dynamic issues you need to know about

Thanks - Jurgen has been helping me lots by phone, the man has biblical patience!  :thumleft: He has also rebuilt my shock once, and done a superb job. Wookie has been very helpful too Seen some American posts where guys are talking about 5 to 10 wt, and some using ATF even - but the local SA...

What weight oils for the rear shock? I weigh 110 kgs and have just fitted the 65 kg spring - any suggestions? Has anyone tried ATF? Thanks gurus!
