Don't know if it will help.  I have a Leatt neckbrace but also with non-Leatt  body-armour.  After i nearly chucked it all in te bin, I accidentally got to slide the back-brace/(extension?) between the backplate and the mesh.  And now it fits like a glove.  I'll try to upload some pics.

It was an awesome trip.  Well told.  Got a baptism of fire in the sand but was well worth it. Thanks again for organising the trip.

One thing you also have to consider, especially  if you plan to tour,  is  fuel consumption.  With the Tenere you'll easily get 20 km/l.  Don't know about the 690 but the 990 need to refuel about twice before the Yammie have to start looking for a pump.
