Hi all the rumor has it that the XR 650 l will be discontinued at the end of 2013. Had a word with Honda regarding this and it seems that it is true, but the real reason is that the XR 650 l does not meet the European emission control standards. Therefore a great legend will be discontinued.

How did you break the frame. I flipped mine and it did not break only slightly bent but repairable. Sorry bud but the frames are really scarce in SA. and as you said Honda want the earth for it.

I have put 3 rear tires on my XR so far and have only done 5200km. the oem tire (dunlop K908) gave me 2900 Km. Then put aBrigdestone trail wind TW 302 0n gave 2000Km. Have now put a Mitas co2 on the back still new but don't think i will get mush out of it as it is showing signs of wear already...

I ride a 650l and have ridden it slow fast and hard and my consumption stayed constant at +/-16.5km per liter. This is not the lightest bike on fuel but it does not have an end to it. If you are looking for fuel consumption you are barking up the wrong tree as you won't find it here.
