8 Pretorias - Lekker DS piece in Tshwane Beeld paper this morning.

Kilroy, Ja ek werk vir Beeld.  As ek al my bronne tot my beskikking, gebruik om die 550 000 lesers van Beeld bekend te stel aan motorfietsry en spesefiek aan Adventure Riding - en die verslaggewers wat nooit so iets skryf nie maar nou meer sal luister na voorstelle oor sulke trips ook daaraan...

Different media, different market reached and hopefully more exposure for DS riding and everythig that goes with that.  ;D Ek is ietwat dom met die plaas van die artikel of `n link maar hier is hy en ek hoop dit werk...

    Klr '08 high speed "weave"

Went to see a client in Harties today.  :) Took the Bakwena highway and on the way did average 130-145kph (YES! A KLR can do 140 and even 155 kph!). Once in a while the bike would start weaving  or wobble slightly. ??? No - my jacket fits snuggle. No cross wind of any sort at all. Bike...

What do you guys wear when your out and about ??

There was a very similar thread towards Sept/ Oct last year. I was in the market for new boots for everyday riding all over the city and what I read convinced me to get a proper pair of boots - Berik Mudlife, very happy with them thank you! - padded jacket with CE approved armour and not bike...

    08 KLR650 Indicators

2nd flicker in 3 months and 4000km and also covered by guarantee/warrantee. Mean Machine techies just smiled and said not a problem. Apparently the 6th in the last few months... No other problems with cracks and so forth but will inspect with the next wash.

    08 KLR650 Indicators

My r/hand one also broke off (my 2008 model bike now has just over 2000km on). Claim approved and currently waiting for the useless dealer - Race Preperations in Hatfield PTA -  to replace the flicker under guarantee.... Apparently it is a design fault because of the flicker assembly being so...

    Biker assist program....

Tegnies nie veel werd op `n kontrak nie :-[ maar die res is ek meer as bereid om ook by te dra to whatever is needed. Get the list going and lets us know what you require. I do agree with one of the previous posting to keep it regional i.e. Pretoria area or Midrand or whatever.

    KLR Doohickey Database

Le Cap, I take it  then that the 2008 KLR doo is better made/assembled than the current one but still to be replaced (the spring at least) at some stage? How soon should this be done then? Without stuffing up the warrenty? Or is that not a consideration?

    KLR 2008

Need to replace my 2004 KLR with 55 021 km on the clock. Itching? Looking at the new model. What is the opinion out there?

    KLR Doohickey Database

This posting makes me worry.... ??? My 2004 KLR has 54 000 going for 55 000 km and the doo not changed yet. No unusual noise or springs or pieces of metal in the oil either. (Not at the last look/service at least. Nê Conrad?). Should I replace in any case? What is the learned riders opinion?

How to manage mud and slick

I can concur on the fact that Annarkees are not for muddy roads. Fell my backside off on Saturday >:(, broke the r/h handguard and picked up a huge crack in the fairing on the r/h side as well just above the mounting armthingy. Had a stiff shoulder for 3-4 days afterwards! :'( Learned to take...

    KLR sprockets and chain

Have to replace the sprockets and chain on my 2004 KLR. Was looking at the tri-metal sprockets from Chaintech in Kempton but believe they only have another shipment in early next year! :( Question: what are the other KLR riders (and non riders) thoughts on sprockets and chain replacement. Does...

    Forma ATV boot

Oh, what I also like is the fact that are decent enough to wear to a client - no metal tips and Star wars/WWF plastic, etc!

    Forma ATV boot

Am in the market for new everyday commuting boots and saw the brown and black all leather Forma ATV (I think thats what they're called) boots at Biking Accessories in Pta. Like them because allthough a ATV boot, still flexable for everyday wear...me thinks. Wondering what they would be like for...

What pants do you wear for commuting

I wear office pants to work - see clients all day so no use changing at the office from riding pants. However, always wear sturdy shoes - currently a pair of Cats that look like biker books. Very happy but the leather is going after 4 year's wear and am looking at something else to wear...
