    Massive Triumph sale .

This will be really good news for the guys that already own Triumph in South Africa. Unfortunately they may take a hit if they decide to trade in or sell their bikes in the near future. Hopefully though, due this recent announcement, everything will settle down and prices will get back to normal...

    The Thumpocalypse

I understand that we need new technology, and that our beautiful planet is choking to death, but i'm still kind of sad at the demise of the basic old thumper. Fortunately, i saw the writing on the wall a few years ago and stocked up a bit  :). Off topic slightly, but how long do you guys reckon...

Swedish Metal - Husaberg FE650 project

I can vouch for the hot exhaust on these bikes. My knuckles get blistered every time I knock off the choke which is tucked away very nicely behind the headers..... They are great fun bikes to ride though, and my FE450 actually makes me look like a decent rider on bad sand roads (which I'm not ...

Need idea for fair price on my XR650L

Pricing really depends on how quickly a seller wants his bike to move. I bought my stock 2012  XR 650 last year with 3500km for R40k. The owner happened to mention that he may be selling the bike. I made an offer and he preferred a quick sale than having the hassle of advertising his bike, and...

    Which is the better helmet

I have the Fly Trekker at the moment, but looking at changing it for something quieter. Mine is really noisy to the point where even with earplugs my ears can be ringing after a longish ride. Dave

Help me design my trailer - Picked it up

I bought my 2 bike trailer from Osborne. He made it with a chequer plate base instead of the expanded metal. Absolutely no problem with bike wheels sliding. I would definitely go with the front wheel locators if you regularly load the trailer alone. The locators hold the bike in upright...

    Is bigger better

Oops, sorry to answer your question.... Keep the 1150, and buy the 660 if you can afford it. With those 2 bikes in the garage, you have alot of options covered on and off road. Dave

    Is bigger better

While i was younger, i got wrapped up into the idea that a bigger bike is better. Now that i'm into my 2nd half century, i've began to realise that i enjoy riding my smaller bikes alot more, so i think my perception has changed due to my age...... Maybe that's it........as we get older we ride...

    Why are you selling?

Must admit, i always ask this question..... Up to now i hadn't really thought about it being a dumb question or not, but I guess it probably is. 9 times out of 10 the answer has been either "buying another bike" or "giving up motorcycling altogether". For me though it's more about engaging with...

    Trail Tech vapor thoughts

Hi Pielas..... Yes, when i bought the tank from you, i planned to fit it for longer trips only, but it looks alot better than i thought so will just leave it on. You also get used to not having to worry about fuel stops quite so much (It actually holds 33 litres, and i'm getting around 600k's on...

    Trail Tech vapor thoughts

Hi pielas.... I fitted a new carb, and the supplied cables were a bit longer, so had to rerout them to get a nice smooth operation.

    Trail Tech vapor thoughts

Hey,thanks for the compliments guys..... :) My other bikes are used alot less now that i have the DR. I'm really impressed with it as an allrounder. Milaatz. The Vapor unit comes with a bracket which bolts directly onto the existing speedo bracket. Very easy to fit it and it looks almost stock...

    Trail Tech vapor thoughts

Hi guys....... I fitted one to my Dr 650 (see pics if they work).....very happy with it and installation was very simple. As far as the engine temperature feature goes, i don't know how accurate it is, but you soon get to know what normal operating temperature is. I suppose if there is any...

WTF?? Why can service in SA not be like this??

I've had the same good service from suppliers in the States. Recently i ordered a GPR v.4 steering damper for my Dr 650. Anyhow on a trip up through Tosca/Bray area the damper started spewing oil. On return home i contacted the manufacturer and explained the problem. They immiediately offered...

    Double bike trailers

Hi Oz..... Was nice meeting you, and thanks for your good sevive etc. I'm really happy with the trailer. It already did a bike trip and has also picked up a 25 bale load of lucern, so is working for its living. Anybody looking for a trailer I would certainly recommend Oz. Cheers. Dave

    hi mileage- low mileage?

Def no misconception this morning... it was -4 in Vryberg early this morning, and the locals here in Bray tell me  it will be -6  tomorrow morning. Definitely not the norm for sure.
