Urgently looking for rear shock for '06 KLR650

Thanks, superfoxi. There are courier companies between Zambia and SA, but I'd have to check what it would cost. However my concern is that it might be too late for a rebuild, since I use the bike every day (it's my only transport). In that case, is it possible to still get a replacement somewhere?

Urgently looking for rear shock for '06 KLR650

I'm urgently looking for a rear shock for an '06 KLR650 after mine blew its seal. The bike is currently in Zambia, where I'm working at the moment, but I have people coming up from Pretoria end of this month and in October, who can bring it up. Since I'm so far away, I guess a rebuild is not...

    Advice for Mozambique

Thanks again, Ooooms and Chopperpilot - much appreciated (plus helps to avoid unnecessary encounters with the law...nao falla portugues, senior...falla anglais).

    Advice for Mozambique

Don't mind the gravel...just want to ease into the more technical stuff (especially further away from civilization and given the current skill-set...don't bite off more than you can chew).  Plus I assume that it will add some nice scenery to the trip.  I remember the road to Bilene being dotted...

    Advice for Mozambique

Sounds good.  Even if there's sand...well, it's Mozambique after all.  Otherwise we'd be riding road-bikes and using tassels on the handlebars.

    Advice for Mozambique

:thumleft: (Didn't know Moz had gravel...thought it's only sand, or sand.  ;) ) Mosquito-net is definitely a must...don't leave home without it!

    Advice for Mozambique

Thanks, OOOOMS. I suppose the only alternative to camping (to save on luggage) is paying quite a lot more for a chalet, or risk staying in a hovel? As far as the policia are concerned, I had quite an unpleasant encounter with the law in Maputo a few years back, so yes - best to be avoided where...

    Advice for Mozambique

Hi Dogs I just want to get some advice on Mozambique.  I'm thinking of doing a trip there next month on a KLR650, but mainly sticking to tar, since I'm quite rusty at the moment.  At this stage the thinking is to enter at Komatipoort, and possibly go as far north as Beira (via Maputo, due to...

    Gauteng Sunday Noob RR---

I think ol' blazes needs some new glasses...every time we ask "Did you see the sand / mud?" he says "What sand / mud??".  But there it is in his pictures right there!  (Of course some dogs love mud more than others...  ;D.) Blazes - bit of a late post (some of us actually have work to do) -...

Sunday Social Ride -- RR --

Just a quick spray-down (no pressure-washer yet, too lazy to wash by hand).  Maybe next time I'll just stay on the bike, and get the kit cleaned at the same time.  :)

    LOSKOP--Kykdaar--goes- Dullies

You sure know some weird people, man, if they only change their underwear that often.  ;D Things still good up here, but it looks like I'm in it for the long haul (like 1 - 2 years).  Depending on how my contract will be, I might even sell the bikes down there and buy one up here.  Anyway...
