As a off road bike for the street its great. ride to your off road area and go play like maraisburg etc. but if you want to do long distance get the 990. if you want to compare it to the gs800 for comuting/ adv riding/ touring etc no comparison, the 690 is HARD WORK. 990 is more in line...

Hey all, well I have tried basically everything on the advrider thread from super ricardo's to yellow pig, to vents to aerotrims to my own concoctions. I am 5'11". 30" in seam. bmw enduro helmet. and sit relatively low on the bike (tend to hunch up) Some were better, some worse than stock...

All said and done, mine cost about R16k for the set. 47Liters and 800km of range Also carries 20L lower than the OEM tanks so drops CofG Mike
