Just checked the oil level as described in the Clymer manual. Oil level fine about half. The bike just smoked again for about 30 sec while checking the oil level. The previous owner said he had used Motul synthetic oil, could that be the cause ?

Also the bike did leak some oil for about 2 weeks while standing and then stopped, might have been over filled ?
