Thanks for the EXCELLENT RR - being an old Umtali boy, it sure brought back memories. I did a ride around Zim back in 1985 on a GSX750 - not off road, except for the route from Milibezi to Vic Falls.

The year long All Expenses Paid hooligan ride

Hi Guys, Just found this thread, and boy did it bring back memories. I was in Groetfontein 86 to 88, and we had a shed full of brand new XR500's, used to take them for "onderhouds route" or maintenance rides - just an excuse to get them out, and take them for a blast. They all had a 5 ltr...

    Mozambique - Advice

Hi WD's, with an Ozzy passport, what is the procedure to get a visa (multiple entry) for Mozambique, can I get it at the border, and does going through Swaziland make it any easier? And then have any of you guys (or gals) done the trip from Chimoio to Tete recently, if so how was the road and...

    African Enduro

Excellent reading stuff, well done! Very keen to chat about southern Africa in 2009, but seeing I will have the missus with on her DRZ250, we might not be up to the speed of the rest, but would still be good to meet for a beer somewhere.  :ricky:

    Rejetting needed

Thanks guys, so just to confirm that I will not do any damage to the bikes seeing they come from sea level and like mentioned, they will only be passing through at altitude, and then back down to sea level. I just would not like to loose too much power or have the bikes running way to heavy on...

    Rejetting needed

While on the subject of rejetting, I have a Suzuki DRZ400e and the wife has a DRZ250, and we plan a trip around southern Africa. Now the bikes have been jetted for sea level (Perth Auastralia), so any advice on what needs to be done, seeing we will be going from the east coast (Durban) through...

Another Greeting from Perth Western Australia

Hey Journey man, Thanks for that. Will be looking at min 8 weeks, maybe 10 tops. The idea is to ship bikes to Durb's, then do the Swaziland, Moz trip, chill in Moz for a while, then onto Malawi, and do some riding along the lake, then swing west into Zambia, and take a slow ride to Vic Falls...

Another Greeting from Perth Western Australia

Hi guys, Gobby here, just joined up. Will be picking some brains soon about a trip around southern Africa with me on a DRZ400 and either the son or the wife (or both) on DRZ250's, sometime in oh-nine or twenty-ten. :pot: So if anyone has done any research, please share. Okay, got to get...
