The same thing happened to me, an oncoming taxi lost its right front wheel just few metres in front of me. I just managed to dodge the wheel and saw the taxi going all over the place with sparks flying. No one was injured.
I'm glad you're ok.
It's a 10 minutes job on a 990. But it's not necessary to do it if you have the Akrapovic mapping loaded already, as I believe the mapping disable the restriction (to confirm).
There is a small black plastic cover on the left that hides a white three pin plug with yellow/brown and Grey wires...
Thanks for clarification. However, I'm left slightly confused now... Why would they design a valve to patch something rather than fixing it at the source?
You're most welcome. I asked Pro Action here in Jo'burg about the removal of the upper butterflies. They didn't seem to approve. I left mine in place, but many guys who's done it report an improved throttle response since they supposed to override your right hand.
The new 990 Adventures and 990 Adventures R come with the 16t front sprocket pre-installed. KTM does listen to their customers.
The 990 Adv R has more peps than all the other Adventures. However, since EFI's mappings can be changed, I guess it won't be impossible to squeeze a few extra hp out...
The SAS (Secondary Air System) helps bringing the catalytic converters to operating temperature. As you know, the catcons only convert the bad stuff at operating temperature.
The SAS allows fresh air into the intake path; leaning the mixture, causing a uneven throttle response and backfires...
To all the guys complaining about the EFI, which is understandable, have you done the following mods?
- 16 t front sprocket
- upper butterflies removal (I've never tried that one)
- EPC disabled
- SAS removal
Personally the EFI's response never really bothered me.
I agree that the old carb...
Hi KwaiPappaGaai,
I eventually bought the Sigma 10-20mm. I've done a few shots with it, and it fits my needs just fine. The Fisheye for me would be a nice extra, but it's luxury. I won't use it that much.
I bought that lens for R4,300.
Looks like Triumph will also release a 1200cc in 2011. Or is it the replacement for the Tiger, knowing that they will also release a Speed Triple with a new 1200cc engine.
They've made a mistake not to raise the red flag after the crash.
Tomizawa was accidentally dropped by a marshal when they stumbled whilst carrying through the gravel.
Apparently. a prosecutor will begin an inquest to see whether criminal charges should be brought.
Thanks to that bike and my stupidity, I was handcuffed for the 1st time and got told my rights on Christmas eve. :xxbah:
There is another pic of me somewhere in the 'you and your bike' thread.
The avatar is nothing like me... ::)
