    Lesotho

Found the "baboons and bikes only" route. As I'm on bike and my wife calls me baboon from time to time I'm giving this route a lot of thought... We have one heavy 1200 adv joining us with limited off-road experience thus I'm not too keen on impossible tracks. Has anyone apart from Plothond...

My mistake, I also read the report by Plothond, not the Epic adventure report. Who use the word "epic" anyway??

    Lesotho

Thanks Michiel for input. Your road looks very tempting but there is no trace of it on my gps and mapsource. I will plot it though and if the guy at Semonkong says my road is useless we'll give it a bash. I can see that the difficult part is still the same - the descent of 600m over 2km down...

I'm hoping you might be wrong on the Chinese. I'm not sure how up to date Google Earth is, but the most recent footage shows no bridge nor road, only trail. It also shows a house we renovated not too long ago with the changes we made. Maybe we have one last shot at this one...

    Lesotho

Question is: is it rideable at all? From what I gather it is, but in parts very difficult. As far as I recall Frankie and them went uphill towards Semonkong, we are heading down. Not sure whether it would be easier or not.

I read this report a while ago and truthfully - it inspired me for this trip. Thoroughly enjoyed the reading. The guys in the group has moderate to good experience, all prefer "road least taken" and so we are simply looking forward to the challenge. At the end of the day - "Dis als net baie...

    Lesotho

Yes, this is the exact route I had in mind, apart from turning East to Thaba Tseka at Qachas neck. Thanks for all the feedback. We are very keen to ride this route and I have put aside +-70km per day for the donkey route, if this not not enough we will simply camp in the bush (or on the planes...

    Lesotho

We are planning a ride to Lesotho, entering from Wepener, riding to Semonkong, taking the "donkey route" from just outside Semonkong down to Qachas Neck. From there up North to Thaba Tseka and down Sani. The trip is planned for the last weekend in October. Has anybody done the "donkey route"...

    RIP biker in PE

Thanks Fugly for pics, helps us realize reality. I don't know about you, I am the husband of one wife, father to one daughter and one unborne son. One act of stupidity could ruin three lives, not to mention family, friends etc. Maybe time to start some form of awareness project for young bikers...

BMW 1200GSA Doing a Burn out ? Can it be done ?

So from now we carry a 500gr fire extinguisher? Whats next - safety boots/protective glasses/ear plugs? Maybe side stand erector training or a valid refueler certificate? I guess one drop shouldn't be seen as a rainstorm.
