    GPS or Tablet?

I've used it here in the UK for some TRF green lane routes (gpx files). So for that it works great, but it doesn't do point to point navigation like google maps. As you can see, you can add gmaps as an icon and launch it within DMD but that's about it. Could be a drawback or not, depends on your...

Husky TE 449 - to "adventurize" or not

Dankie. Ek wonder if dit nie maar net nog n marketing gimmick is van aftermarket parte nie. n Plek in Nederland verkoop sulke hubs vir die tipe bikes maar teen omtrent €1000 n pop. Mal. Sent from my SM-G973F using Tapatalk

Husky TE 449 - to "adventurize" or not

Good stuff, thanks guys. Will take a look at the link you posted Chris. One more question. These bikes don't have a cush hub and IINM neither does the KTM 450/500. What about the countershaft bearing? How long will it last if you do long distances on tar that it wasn't designed to do. Sent...

Husky TE 449 - to "adventurize" or not

Dankie man. Het vergeet van daai 1 liter olie "tenk"  :o I think there is a mod out there that increases it's capacity. Forgot about that. Sprockets - will probably have to do some homework as I don't want to compromise it's off-road capability. But as it stands now I can't stand riding it in...

Husky TE 449 - to "adventurize" or not

I know I know, I'm UK based. So replace Husky 449 with BMW G450X...  has anyone done this with these?

Husky TE 449 - to "adventurize" or not

Not sure if this sort of topic has been discussed before, more than likely, but I'm hoping for some insight or opinions please. I have a 2012 Husky TE 449. I do green lanes here in the UK and to be honest it is completely overkill. Not surprised really, it is an enduro bike. At the time I...

    Andy660 emigrating to the U K !

Welcome to Mud Island boet.  :) Plenty of riding adventures to be had, just need to adjust your expectations slightly. Wales offers fantastic offroad riding even on big adventure bikes. And if you can afford the time off the TET (Trans Euro Trail) offers incredible riding on the continent...

Verkoop julle ADV bikes en koop n scooter.

Het verlede jaar in `n klein Spaanse dorpie een raakgeloop. Nogal met lekker knobblies op en vol stof. Looked the part...  :lol8: :lol8: Maar in alle eerlikheid verstaan ek nie die doel van hulle nie? Miskien in plekke soos Italië, Frankryk of Spanje vir die jonger manne om te kan wys hulle is...

    Yamaha T7 - No longer a Concept

You mind letting us (ok me  ;D) know how the ABR event went? I didn't go this year as I did the Wales 500 so my man points are running too low for another event so soon. Would love to go next year so please drop me a PM on how it went? Apologies for OT post  ;) you can combine it with a report...

    Advice needed: mounting soft panniers

Jy sien. I told you I learned something! In my ignorance the thought never crossed my mind to remove the top box for these kinds of trips. Being my first trip where I have to carry a tent etc, I hope I can be forgiven!  :imaposer:

    Advice needed: mounting soft panniers

For lack of a better description, I guess I was wearing blinkers w.r.t. other options available, apart from panniers and top cases. I wouldn't have considered "plain" roll bags as an option and didn't really think of removing my top box. Guess my lack of multi-day trip experience shows. Thanks...

    ENDURISTAN.

Not gonna lie, the colour combination and setup of this KTM has me almost teary eyed. Man that's nice.  :thumleft: :thumleft:

    Advice needed: mounting soft panniers

That's a nice setup Nimmo. But to be honest at the moment I cannot justify the cost of any of these big brand type bags (GL, Kriega etc), although they are really nice and practical. I simply don't ride often enough for that. If things work out on this trip I'll be doing it once, maybe twice a...

    Advice needed: mounting soft panniers

Sorry Chris, I should have explained** it better. The rear seat will be free. I'm going "unsupported", so have to take all my camping gear with me for the long weekend. No pillion, so the plan is to use the rear seat somehow for tent, sleeping bag, tarp and whatnot. The Givi 52l top box I have...

    Advice needed: mounting soft panniers

So as you can see on the right it should be fine as the rack should keep the bags away from the wheel, and provide some anchor points. On the left with the exhaust it may be a problem if it hangs too low. Am I over complicating things?

    Advice needed: mounting soft panniers

That looks like a nice setup. If they take off I'll be happy to be your European agent  :thumleft: To be honest I'm more on the hunt for the best approach to take. I know everyone has their own way of doing things, and I'll probably end up doing my own thing too in terms of what luggage I use...

    Advice needed: mounting soft panniers

Ok I'll admit it. I'm not always sure how soft panniers or roll bags like giant loop etc are fitted to a bike. Hence this topic. My f7gs have pannier racks for the std BMW (hard) cases, but I have no interest in going for hard cases, not to even mention the price. Will I be able to fit these...
