Had exactly the same problem on my tank.  The problem became worse because the crack opened up to more than 2mm in places.  I think the manufacturing process might induce residual stresses somehow.  Eventually had to chuck the tank.

Think I'll stick with the braaipack :peepwall:

Recovery was R275 call-out + R5.50 per km to Clanwilliam, whopping R1075 or thereabouts.  Plus the guesthouse of R350.  But at the time it was a bargain!!
