My last GPS was a Nuvi 500. I used it off road, but that is what eventually caused it to break. The vibrations damaged the usb port where it plugs in for power. The other shortfall of the Nuvi 500 is one cannot upload tracks to it. You have to convert the track to a route, which tends to cause...

Hey Glenn I love my Xt, the only gripe I had until recently was that wobble at about 130km and upwards. The fix is very simple, 2 clicks stiffer on the rear suspension and the weave dissapears. Try it out

Hi Plonker, yep, looks good up there and the camping area has views over the entire mountain range. Very nice and secluded.

Hi Gunda Well spotted, that is the mountain. The one side of the mountain is on the Buxton farm (relations on my wifes side). I have walked to the top and was buggered, it gets quite steep near the top. The closest place I know is the Everglades which is also bordering on the mountain.

The rim was a bit of bad luck...Im paranoid with the new rim, that I will bugger it up. I asked about getting it welded but was told that it will go in the same place again. The road runs on the west of the dam. The entrance is through a farm gate, unmarked of course.
