I used to carry a sidearm on my hip while riding. One day I discovered that my leather jacket was riding up in the slipstream exposing the firearm. If your sidearm is not concealed it makes you a potential target. If you do carry be sure it's concealed and secure. I don't carry anymore.

A Toyota driver hit my brother-in-law changing lanes at the M5/N2 interchange in CT without looking. He caught him on the calf while riding his NC700X. That took the bumper off the Toyota in peak hour traffic. Driver claimed he didn't see him. Thankfully he wasn't hurt, just a scratch.
