I got the Yellow Submarine this weekend and could not even ride more than 6 km's! But now I am ready! Just one question: The previous owner put Castrol SAF - XJ in the gearbox and final drive recently. The BMW Book says "Brand Name Hypoid Gear Oil SAE 90, API, class GL 5 & the mechanic at BMW in Bethlehem says SAF - XO.
Issue is I am leaving early in September and want to take the baby for a 300 kilo ride can I do so safely with the SAF - XJ or must I change and if so to what as the SAF - XJ & XO is a synthetic?
