We did my 60 000km service on my GS two nights ago, you know the deal, oil,plugs,fluids,diff oil, gearbox oil, check alternator bushes then we opened my starter motor and oops. Basically two of the four magnets in the housing had come loose and dented my armourcher ( excuse spelling ), it was in a bad state, managed to get another housing but he was not sure if it would turn in the correct direction, so Last night eventually fitted it and guess what, it turned the wrong way. So out it came and my magician of a brother in law managed to rewire the whole thing allowing it to spin the correct way and now my baby is running beautiful. New starter is R 5000 from agents
