If any of you lucky 1200GS owners ever have a problem with the clutch switch, ie. the bike will not start in gear with the clutch lever pulled in, here is the solution. The micro-switch fitted into the clutch-mounting bracket is adjustable. (Not even the fundi?s at BMW knew this) Simply loosen the T9 torx screw located underneath the mounting that holds the switch, pivot the switch until the correct operation is achieved, ie. the bike will not start in gear until the clutch lever is fully pulled in. Be sure to have the bike on its centre stand while doing this, it will not start while the side stand is out.
