2009 EC Regional Wild Dog Bash – Official Thread 

A regional bash is to be held on the weekend of 12, 13 and 14 June 2009.

Venue:  Vaalpadskloof, a farm in the district of Steylerville, EC.   On the R329, turn-off to Sandkraal (in a northerly direction) that is  30.7 km from Steylerville and approx. 56 km from Willomore.  Study images below for details.

Campsite's "kuierplek" co-ordinates:  33°15'47.66"S   24°01'05.37"E

Disclaimer: Dual-sport motorcycling inherently involves dangerous
activities.  Anyone who attends the Bash do so voluntary and
acknowledge that they accept the risks as their own free choice.

Notes:

• Pie and I will be running point on this one and get it organised.
• I will also maintain the first few posts on the thread so that all updated info can be obtained there.  For example, the participation list as the second entry to this thread.
• Cognisance should be taken that it may get very cold at night in June - proper clothing would be required!
• There are enough space for lots of dogs!
• Bashers will be able to stay until Tuesday 16 June 2009, but must provide their own food.
• Costs:  R230 pp - Payment details
• Closing date for payments:  Monday 8 June 2009 @ 24h00

Support for Animal Anti-cruelty League

All wild dogs are asked to bring along a tin of dog food and donate it to the AACL at the bash. 
This is totally voluntary, however, for every tin you donate, you will get a change in a draw for a lekker price.

Relevant important information

• Nearest medical doctor – Steylerville.
• Nearest fuel - Steylerville.
• Nearest shop - Steylerville.
• A 4x4 bakkie and trailer will be on-site as support/recovery vehicle.
• Proposed outride routes and relevant maps will be posted soonest.
• There is no cell phone signal on the farm (well maybe on the highest koppie).
• In emergencies, you can be contacted via the farm owner by landline: 049-8330025 (Oom “Boetie” Strydom).  Only for real emergencies please.
  
• Please bring your own eating tools and a mug.

It is a request from the owner that persons attending the Bash must please not harm the environment in any way.

Extra refuse bins and/or black bags will be provided. Please keep the site clean.
