"KTM spices up the 2011 990 Adventure with this new Dakar edition to celebrate the company's rally heritage.KTM has decided to pay tribute to the extreme long-distance riders of Dakar Rally Racing with a new edition of its popular twin-cylinder adventure touring bike. The 2011 KTM 990 Adventure Dakar model is a mechanical blend of the standard 990 Adventure and the 990 Adventure R. It gets the R-model engine and an orange powder coat on the steel trellis chassis wrapped in “cigarette blue” bodywork with special Dakar Bedouin graphics and a “suede-look” seat cover.
A V-75 Twin powers the Dakar bike with a claimed 115 horsepower. Bosch ABS comes standard and WP suspension components straight from the Adventure model grace the front and rear. A 48mm fork and PDS shock with preload adjustment both offer 8.3 inches of travel for a ground clearance measurement of 10.3 inches. Scorpion tires roll on 18/21-inch Saxess wheels.
Pricing is not yet available."
