800GS heavier than 1200GS ??

Since a lot of my friends started going 800GS instead of 1200GS because size etc etc I started looking at it.
Motorcycle specs is reporting the dry weight of a 800GS as 214kg and that of a 1200GS 205kg ?  :eek7:
Is that true ?
Why will I then pick up or handle the 800 easier than the 1200 then ??
