Accommodation advice (Zambia, Zim, Malawi and Botswana)

Doing a trip up to Cape Maclear(booked in at Tuckaways and Dongwe island,  In December , have 3 days (2 nights ) to get up, was thinking of staying in Masvingo and Tete .

Then leaving Cape Maclear on the 2nd Jan and have 5 days ( 4 nights)  to get back home to JHB. Would like to visit Victoria Falls on the way down and go through Bots to S.A

Any suggestions or advice would be greatly appreciated with regards to accommodation , routes etc.
