Hey EC Dogs,
Perhaps you can give me some advice...
I was supposed to leave for my annual ride on Friday the 1st of November with my four mates but owing to growing work commitments I have to postpone my departure to Monday the 4th of November.
My fellow riders are going to be riding from Steytlerville to Patensie on the Monday the 4th of November via the Antoniesberg Pass.
I plan to leave around 4:30am from Jo'burg and slab it as fast as possible to Steytlerville. Should take about 9 hours or so. I should get to Steytlerville around 1:30pm. Should I ride the Antoniesberg Pass solo? I will be loaded for 5 nights, tent, sleeping bag, tools etc...
I've ridden the pass before - last year but it was chaos we had to push our bikes across the Grootrivier water was about waste deep. But I've seen from some reports that the road is looking a better, river diverted etc.
Any advice would be appreciated.
