Advise on R60 ? maybe,maybe not

Sorry for crap shots,can someone identify this bike?
Seller got it from father in law,who said it was a " traffic cop" bike and both said origanally it was a r50/2.....??1967,the plate shows r60.Bike ran until 2008 when seller fiddled with left carb and probably lost something....he mentions small spring.Still on the road.I am not looking at a restoration...just fun.All looks original for a dummy like me,I did notice one front shock did not have pin stripes.All keys  in order and VIN looks same on neck and engine.Please assist :-\
